Award/winners

The Françoise van den Bosch Award is presented every other year to a designer of jewellery of international standing, in recognition of his or her oeuvre.

The Françoise van den Bosch Award is not a competition, so artists cannot submit work. The award is presented on the recommendation of an independent jury. The jury comprises of one board member and at least two other specialists in the field of design and/or craft, plus the recipient of the previous award.

The recipient of the award is given € 10,000 towards a special project of his/her choice. The foundation will generate interest in the oeuvre of the artist in The Netherlands and abroad and usually the award ceremony coincides with the opening of an exhibition in a Dutch museum or gallery some time after the announcement. Recent examples are the exhibition Demiurg by David Bielanders at Museum Arnhem which travelled to Munich and Oslo or the TED-Walk event by award winner Ted Noten at the Stedelijk Museum ‘s-Hertogenbosch.

The Foundation also purchases a representative work by the artist for the Françoise van den Bosch collection, on loan to the Stedelijk Museum Amsterdam.
