Award

The Françoise van den Bosch Award is one of the most prestigious international awards in the field of jewellery design. The award is presented biennially to a jewellery artist, based in the Netherlands or abroad, in recognition of their body of work. The Françoise van den Bosch Award is not a competition; artists cannot submit their work for consideration. The award winners contribute to the development of the field through their work, breaking new ground or shedding fresh light on jewellery. Their work, attitude, and approach serve as an example for a younger generation of makers.

The award is granted on the recommendation of a specially selected, independent jury, reassembled every two years, which includes the previous award winner.
The recipient receives €10,000 for a special project of their choice. The award ceremony features a Sunday Talk in honor of the winner, organized in collaboration with the Stedelijk Museum Amsterdam, and a solo exhibition in collaboration with Museum Arnhem. Recent examples include the exhibitions OTHERSELVES by Noon Passama and Wasi Sani by Chequita Nahar.

The foundation commissions a young artist to design a ‘trophy’ for the award winner. This trophy is presented during the award ceremony, and a second copy is added to the collection.
