A year after her graduation Françoise’s work already had a very different, more plastic and more powerful appearance. This robust necklace looks more like armor than an elegant enclosure of the neck. It consists of two parts that are interlinked. It is a completely new conceptualisation of a necklace. Françoise made it out of copper, a fairly heavy material that she chromed, so it made a much lighter impression, while at the same time having a less harsh reflection compared to silver or gold. Jewels and objects that consist of two, or even more parts, are a central theme in her work.
