This pendant, made out of resin and composed and moulded by Boris de Beijer, resembles a mask. De Beijer prefers to work with synthetisch materials. He also creates wall object and installations. He states: “ I find it interesting to work with recognisable objects and symbols that are difficult to identify properly. I call them relics from the future, a bit of science fiction.” Boris de Beijer had just graduated from the Jewellery Departement at the Gerrit Rietveld Academy in Amsterdam, when he made this trophy for Lisa Walker (Françoise van den Bosch Award 2010), a commission by the Françoise van den Bosch Foundation.
