Jing He, at that time a jewellery student at the Gerrit Rietveld Academy in Amsterdam, designed this trophy for award winner David Bielander (Françoise van den Bosch Award 2012). This is another commission by the foundation. Jing He knew David Bielander because he was a guest teacher at the academy during the years she studied there. In one of their conversations Swiss David Bielander explained her the beauty and advantages of the potato peeler, a Swiss invention according to him. Jing He used the peeler to create an abstract flower, an orchid, as a tribute to her teacher.
