Marijke de Goey
(The Netherlands, 1947)
Winner Françoise van den Bosch Award 1986
Marijke de Goey is a Dutch designer and visual artist whose multidisciplinary practice spans jewellery, public space, transportation design, poetry, and architecture. Trained in textile design at the Gerrit Rietveld Academy in Amsterdam, she is best known for her imaginative and sculptural approach to form. Fascinated by geometric shapes such as cubes and curved lines, De Goey explores how these forms transform through movement, scale, and repetition. Her jewellery is characterised by a strong sense of spatiality, often blurring the boundaries between ornament, object, and architecture. Alongside her design practice, she taught interior architecture at the Gerrit Rietveld Academy for fifteen years. In 1986, she was awarded the Françoise van den Bosch Award in recognition of her innovative contribution to contemporary jewellery.
The award ceremony took place at Museum Boijmans Van Beuningen in Rotterdam, on 20 December 1986.
