The work of Zaina Benhamou is deeply informed by her experience as a former top-level gymnast. She understands what it means to give it her all. For Benhamou, perseverance, dedication, and excellence are values that she and Noon Passama share. The medal is suspended from a red, white, and blue ribbon – the colors of both the Dutch and Thai national flags. Hidden inside is a message written in Zaina’s own handwriting. As Benhamou puts it “…a reminder of this day, and of all the days still to come. A call to keep spinning, to keep moving, to keep going for gold.”
