Virág Motesiczky
(The Netherlands, 1990)
Designer of the trophy for Lin Cheung.
Virág Szálas-Motesiczky is an artist-researcher and educator whose work explores
material culture, political memory, and situated learning. Through artistic research and
pedagogical experimentation, she develops formats in which making, unlearning, and
collective inquiry become tools for rethinking authority and agency. Her practice focuses on
inherited gestures, transgenerational customs, and the politics of learning through making.
Alongside her artistic practice, she works across higher art education, facilitating
studio-based learning through material engagement and thinking-by-doing. She studied at
Design Academy Eindhoven and the Gerrit Rietveld Academie, and later specialised in
Education in Arts at the Piet Zwart Institute
