Award

The Françoise van den Bosch Award is one of the most prestigious international prizes in the field of jewellery design. The award is presented biennially to a jewellery or object designer, from the Netherlands or abroad, in recognition of their oeuvre. The prize is awarded to makers whose work contributes to the development of the field, forges new paths, or casts a new light on the concept of art jewellery. Their work, attitude, and approach serve as an inspiration to a younger generation of makers and designers.

The prize is awarded based on the recommendation of an independent jury specially assembled every two years. The jury consists of a board member (who serves as jury chair without voting rights) and at least two other experts, including the previous award winner.

The prize consists of €10,000 and a solo exhibition at Museum Arnhem. The award ceremony coincides with a Sunday Talk at the Stedelijk Museum Amsterdam in honour of the winner – an afternoon featuring international speakers who explore themes related to the winner’s work. The foundation aims to generate interest in the artist’s oeuvre work in the Netherlands and internationally.

A young artist is invited to design a ‘trophy’ for the award winner. This trophy is presented during the award ceremony, and a second copy is added to the collection.
